Rosemary Garrison’s Mexico Yoga Retreat is returning for the fifth straight year in 2014 to Haramara Retreat on the beautiful coast of Sayulita.
This Spring Break retreat will be an opportunity to study and practice with a much-loved California-based yoga teacher, as well as to connect with other yoga students from different parts of the world with varied yoga styles and levels of experience. Designed for beginner through advanced yogis, the daily practices (morning and evening) are custom tailored for each group and each student’s level of practice. Prior attendees have included a well-rounded mix of international yogis on holiday, couples and best friends vacationing and practicing together, college students on Spring Break, and serious yoga students looking to deepen their study in a concentrated, week-long retreat environment.
The 2014 Mexico yoga retreat will be for seven days and nights at the spiritual oasis of Haramara Retreat… a treasured location nestled within one of the most exquisitely beautiful coastlines along the Pacific. Known by many as “a sanctuary for the soul,” Haramara provides the perfect backdrop for healing, nurturing and encouragement of the yogic spirit. On-site spa services include massage, manicures, and pedicures, and amenities include ocean-view yoga shalas, a 1200 foot covered outdoor dining room, and a new infinity pool overlooking the ocean.
Rosemary teaches Vinyasa Flow yoga with a strong Ashtanga foundation. There will be emphasis on mapping movement to the breath while learning and establishing proper alignment in the asanas, and there will be guidance around developing a personal practice. Each day in Mexico will include a morning and an evening yoga class followed by teachings around the purpose, philosophy, and power of yoga. There will also be meditation instruction and meditation sessions in the Vipassana tradition, and yoga will be used as the preparation for the daily meditation. Instruction will be available for all interested.
About Rosemary Garrison
Rosemary’s yoga journey began with the Mysore Ashtanga first series taught by renowned Ashtanga yoga teacher Tim Miller, with whom she has studied extensively. Years later, further exploration into yogic movement and practice guided her to Vinyasa Flow yoga classes where she found the dance of Vinyasa liberating, beautiful, and alive. She then began practicing with an array of talented teachers within the yoga flow lineage – Max Strom, Dharma Mittra, and Shiva Rea. After a Yoga Alliance Certification, a teacher training with David Swenson, and a myriad of other trainings, she began teaching yoga in 2004 and has taught yoga full-time ever since.
In addition to leading retreats and teaching her weekly yoga classes, Rosemary teaches private yoga in Ojai and Santa Barbara. She also offers yoga for weddings, and corporate yoga for businesses and wellness programs during meetings and conferences.
